Fundarte

Fundarte is an art fund set up by the Kulungwana Association to support the cultural projects of all artists, whether or not they are members of the Association.

The aim of “Fundarte” is to support artists engaged in various types of artistic production aimed at achieving a certain objective, such as holding an exhibition, publishing a book or taking part in an artistic residency. Support should never be aimed at the complete endeavour and it is available to all creative artists.

Support will involve relatively modest amounts (up to 20,000 Mt) for such things as buying materials, framing pictures, revising the text for a book or other publication, art materials for taking part in a residency or a workshop.

Requests must be made in writing, accompanied by a detailed budget and a full description explaining the reason why the funds are needed and how they will be used. The projects may or may not be shown in the “Sala de Espera” Gallery of the Kulungwana Association, as well as in other alternative cultural venues.

Each artist or group may make one application per year and can receive support once every two years. The support should be mentioned in information about the project and include the logo of the Kulungwana Association.

An artistic committee composed of members of the Kulungwana Association will assess the applications and decide on the allocation of funds to support projects, based on assessment of actual results of the project, exhibition or other event. The members of the committee have no access to Fundarte.

Deadline for the submission of applications: eight weeks before the date it is required.

Reply: sent by email at least two weeks before the event to be held.
