Oblino was born in 1940, in Matalana. He is a plastic artist and musician. He was a mine worker in South Africa, where he met the painter Mankew.
Later he came to known Malangatana, who presented him to Master Alberto Chissano, who taught him the art of sculpting.
In 1983/84 he obtained a scholarship in Bulgaria where he did an internship on techniques for working marble. For his sculptures he has been using wood since 1969 and, lately also stone. He was the co-founder of the Matalana Cultural Centre.

Paulo Alexandre was born in Lisbon in 1965. He lives in Mozabique since 1988, where he is in the digital printing business. He is also a photographer.
Photography always had a great seduction power, but it was only in the past few years that it became an important part of his life, firstly as a hobby and then as a professional photographer in the areas of documentary, wildlife, publicity and fashion. Paulo Alexandre has participated in a number of colletive exhibitions.
Pekiwa was born in Maputo, in 1977.
He has been sculpting since childhood, initially with his father, Govane , who is also a renowned sculptor.
From 1991 to 1995, sold his work at the Artisan Fair in Maputo. From 1996 he has participated annually in several collective exhibitions and workshops in Mozambique , as well as abroad.
Many of his sculptures are in public institutions in Mozambique, as well as in private collections in several countries around the world. Currently he works with materials collected in the “ bairros” ( suburbs), for example old doors and traditional domestic utensils, transforming them into art.
Lourenço Dinís Pinto was born in Maputo in 1980.
He graduated from the National School for Visual Arts in 1997, and later from the Faculty of Architecture and Planning of the Eduardo Mondlane University .
He obtained a number of distinctions in graphic design and is presently doing an internship in architecture.

Radiante was born in 1976, in Matalana. After studying at Noroeste I Secondary School , he continued his studies at the National School for Visual Arts.
He strated painting in 1992 and was inspired by the paintings of reknown artist Malangatana. Radiante is a permanent member of the Matalana Cultural Centre.
Raúl Oblino Magaia was born in Maputo in 1984.
He is the son of sculptor Oblino Magaia and started to copy his father's works at an early age.
He has participated actively in workshops at the Matalana Cultural Centre, where he learned and experimented new sculpting techniques with different types of wood.
Living in the Airport neighbourhood, he has taught young residents in the basics of sculpting.
Reinata Sadimba was born in 1945 in Nemu village in Cabo Delgado , Mozambique. Daughter of small farmers, she was brought up in the traditional Makonde culture, which included the production of ceramic utensils.
In 1975 she started a profound transformation in her ceramic works. Worldwide, she became well known for her “strange and fantastic” creations. Reinata Sadimba is considered one of the most important women artists of the African continent.
Reinata has received a number of prizes and held exhibitions in many countries Belgium, Switzerland, Portugal, Denmark, Italy, South Africa and Tanzania. Her works are represented in various institutions, such as the National Art Museum, Maputo and the Lisbon Museum of Ethnology. Her works belong to the Collection of Modern Art - Culturgest and a great number of private collections all over the world.
Roquia Samate Mulungo was born in Maputo.
She started painting in 2005 and held her first solo exhibition in 2007.
She participated in two collective exhibitions in 2008, namely for the anniversary of BCI and at the Cultural Centre N`tsindza of the Maputo City Council.
